Ask before installation
- Is the warranty backed by the film manufacturer, the installer, or both?
- Does it cover bubbling, peeling, cracking, adhesive failure, or color change?
- Are labor and removal included in an approved claim?
- Is coverage transferable if the vehicle or property is sold?
- What proof of purchase and product information must be retained?
- Are commercial and residential terms different?
Common exclusions to review
Warranties may exclude glass breakage, scratches, misuse, abrasive cleaning, pre-existing glass damage, aftermarket defroster issues, installation on unsuitable glass, or damage caused by later repairs. Exact exclusions vary.
Who handles a claim?
Confirm whether you return to the original installer, contact the manufacturer, or use another authorized dealer. Ask what happens if the installing business closes or relocates.
Keep a simple project file
Save the invoice, warranty card, product name, VLT, installation date, provider details, and photos of the finished work. Do not rely only on verbal promises.
